Rental Car Agencies

At Search Exotics LA, our sole purpose is to put the tools and resources you need in your hands so that you can find the exotic car you want and at a price that fits within your budget and so you can find a legitimate company which operates legally.

In light of all the recent litigations with exotic rental car agencies (do some Google searches for “exotic rental car lawsuits”) besides just Nicki Minaj dealing with legal battles over a Lamborghini rental she damaged, there are more and more cases of people renting exotic vehicles from companies without the proper and legally required “commercial rental fleet insurance” who found themselves having to pay 100% of the damages out of their own pockets. Below you will find a breakdown of the exotic rental car agencies in Los Angeles who do and do not have the proper commercial rental fleet insurance. Also, be sure to check out this full article we wrote on the topic: ILLEGAL Exotic Rental Car Agencies: CAUTION.

On this page, you will find our comprehensive and brutally honest reviews of the rental car agencies here in Los Angeles. We know that just because you love to tool around in the hottest looking cars does not mean that you have a bottomless pit of money to throw at these different agencies. Beverly Hills Rent a Car

9732 S. Santa Monica Blvd. Beverly Hills, CA 90210

BHRentaCar.com

Pricing: Very Expensive
Selection: 300+ Vehicles

Overall Rating: C-
Review: Beverly Hills Rent a Car started in 1992 with a claimed fleet of over 300 vehicles. As with any large corporation, the bigger a business typically grows, the more expenses it incurs and thus must increase their prices. BH Rent a Car offers a very good selection of vehicles and has several locations making it convenient if you want to be close to one of their locations to view their inventory or pick up an exotic rental, but that’s about where the “good” ends.

Besides the minor issue of their website being old and outdated, they have the highest prices in Los Angeles for exotic rental vehicles. Sure they have multiple locations, but as far as we understand, many customers who rent exotic vehicles prefer direct vehicle delivery, so the location(s) are pretty irrelevant. If you are looking to rent an exotic vehicle and don’t care about the cost, Beverly Hills Rent a Car may be a good option if you a looking for a specialty vehicle that other agencies may not carry. Other than that, we recommend shopping elsewhere.

PROS- Great selection of vehicles and multiple locations.

CONS- Highest prices out of all exotic rental car agencies in Los Angeles.

Review: Black and White features regular, luxurious, and also unique automobiles located in Beverly Hills. Founded in 1994, they have been recognized for their superb customer service and also for carrying the most recent and luxurious cars around town. At Black and White, you can expect very good assistance for all your needs. Black and White Auto caters to celebrities, expert athletes, corporate individuals, company owners and also tourists throughout the world.

PROS- Wide car selection, up to date models, good customer service.

CONS- Their cars are expensive with high security deposits and getting approved to rent a car is difficult.

Carefree Lifestyle

Review: Carefree Lifestyle is a complete concierge firm that provides visitors with exclusive and unrivaled service. Carefree Lifestyle was made for clientele interested in enjoying top-notch car service. With a selection of options that includes limousines, chauffeured vacation choices, boat charters and specialized cooking lodgings, Carefree Lifestyle is actually every single globe-trotter’s “one stop shop”. There are also beachfront villas, delightful mansions, contemporary deluxe condos, and penthouses they can set you up in. Carefree Lifestyle worries us based on the name alone. Who wants to do business with a company that includes the work “carefree” in their name? Besides that small issue, Carefree Lifestyle offers a pretty good selection of exotic vehicles for rent at what are seemingly average/mid-range pricing.

PROS- Includes the whole lifestyle, not just cars. Superb customer service.

CONS- Way too many options for someone who is looking to rent an exotic car. Can be extremely expensive and many of their options aren’t necessary or are overpriced.

Gotham Dream Cars

2323 Cotner Avenue Los Angeles , CA 90064

GothamDreamCars.com

Pricing: Affordable

Review: Gotham Dream Cars established in March 2004 provides a very professional, seamless exotic car rental service. They are based in New York with a huge facility for their cars. They provide exotic and luxurious cars from the most some of the most reputed manufacturers in the world such as Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche and more. They are one the largest and work hard to make every customer’s dream come true. But, of course there are high costs associated with being big and having a big selection and the customer will know it. While the owner, Noah, does not get much face time with his customers anymore, you can read about him online as he seems like a smart entrepreneur.

PROS- Has a huge selection, carries up to date car models, great customer service.

CONS- Very expensive, main office is in the east coast, high security deposits required.

Hertz Dream Cars

Review: Hertz established an exotic car rental division a few years back. The name alone gives credibility, but along with that comes expensive pricing. Hertz is arguably one of the most well known car rental services in the world and carries a huge selection of all kinds of vehicles. Hertz has been around for a long time and has the brand people recognize. On the flip side, it does seem they should stick with renting regular cars for regular folks; this exotic car niche doesn’t suit them very well.

PROS- Good selection, solid brand name, and up to date models.

CONS- Expensive pricing, high security deposits, they have better options for their non-exotic cars.

Vanity Exotics

1500 Rosecrans Ave. Manhattan Beach, CA 90266

VanityExotics.com

Pricing: Very Affordable
Selection: 13 Vehicles
LA Locations: 1
Overall Rating: A-
Review: Vanity Exotics stands out among all the exotic rental car agencies in Los Angeles due to their insanely low pricing. With any upside comes a downside, and for Vanity Exotics these downsides are worth the money you’ll save. They do not have a showroom, so you will have to arrange a pick-up time in Manhattan Beach (only 10 minutes from LAX) but about 20-30 minutes form the heart of LA aka downtown, Beverly Hills, and Hollywood. Or you can schedule delivery of your exotic rental directly to you. Also, their selection of exotic rentals is not the greatest as they only had 9 vehicles in their fleet at the time we reviewed them, but within their fleet they have the main cars that many people would probably want to rent like a Lamborghini Gallardo and Ferrari California.

PROS- By far the lowest priced exotic rental agency in Los Angeles. Easy to work with and friendly.

CONS- Small selection of exotic rental vehicles, no showroom, and only one location.

Elite Dream Cars

Review: Elite Dream Cars was established in 2014 by a Chinese entrepreneur, Howard Yang, who runs an exotic trading company (e.g., exotic car dealership). Howard decided to start a spin-off company by renting out his exotic fleet and offers a nice selection with affordable pricing. The problems, however, are two fold. First, the company is technically not in Los Angeles, but rather is in Walnut, California (next to Pomona/East of Los Angeles), but they do deliver to Los Angeles for a steep fee of $250 each way. The second, and bigger problem is that they are operating illegally by not having commercial rental fleet insurance and rather have a commercial All State policy which only covers vehicles if driven by employees of the company. Elite will tell you that you need to provide your own insurance (which is typical for almost all legitimate exotic rental car agencies), but if you damage their exotic vehicle during a rental, or even worse you hurt or kill someone while renting, and your insurance finds out that you rented from a company without commercial rental fleet insurance, your insurance is not required to cover any payments and therefore would probably not cover anything. Elite Dream Cars would be a great company if they operated legally with commercial rental fleet insurance and were actually situated in Los Angeles, but for not it’s not worth the downsides.

PROS- Nice selection and reasonable pricing.

CONS- Only one location which isn’t in Los Angeles and they operate illegally by not possessing commercial rental fleet insurance.

LA Exotics, LLC

16742 Stagg St Suite 103 Van Nuys CA 91406

LAExoticsLLC.com

Pricing: Expensive

Review: LA Exotics, LLC established themselves as an exotic rental car agency new in 2015. They offer a small fleet of exotic rental car vehicles, many of which can also be found with Elite Dream Cars because they photos are the same and chances are they just rent out other companies’ vehicles. While this is typical for a lot of start-up exotic rental car agencies, the problem is that you can obviously find a better deal if you can find the source- aka Elite Dream Cars. LA Exotics, LLC, besides having a horrible name by using “LLC” in both the website URL and the business name, has an awful website which looks like something one would have seen in 1999. They are also very inconsistent; for instance, they claim to have a “2015 Lamborghini Gallardo”, but Lamborghini stopped producing the Gallardo with the last model year being 2014. While they are the only exotic rental car agency we are aware of in “The Valley” (e.g., north of main Los Angeles), they may be operating illegally like many start-up rental car agencies by not possessing commercial rental fleet insurance. They will tell you that they have “commercial insurance”, but this is not the same as commercial rental fleet insurance and we have yet to verify their insurance. They will also offer you the ability to purchase rental insurance, however, such a thing does not exist. We have spoken with every exotic rental insurance carrier including their underwriters and no such thing exists. You must have your own insurance or purchase a full insurance policy (usually 1 month minimum requirement) and then cancel it after your rental, but usually that will cost upwards of $500-1,000. DO NOT purchase insurance through LA Exotics, LLC as it will not be valid if you end up needing to use it!

PROS- The only exotic rental car agency in the “San Fernando Valley” that we are aware of (a benefit for those in the Valley only).

CONS- Small selection of exotic rental vehicles, only one location, expensive, very far from LAX and most of Los Angeles.

Premiere Exotic Car Rentals

Review: Premiere Exotic Rental Cars is another exotic rental car agency start-up company that started in 2014 out of Venice Beach, California. They have a small, fenced-in, lot right off of Lincoln Blvd (aka PCH or Highway 1) right in the heart of Venice Beach. Only 10 minutes from LAX, they offer a nice small selection of exotic rental vehicles, but they are operating illegally without proper commercial rental fleet insurance, so there’s not much more we can comment. Rent at your own risk!

PROS- Nice location, decent fleet selection.

CONS- Pricing is expensive and operating illegally without proper commercial rental fleet insurance.
